Skating videos

Now, this isn’t the sort of thing I usually post about, but after seeing a couple of really impressive videos in the last couple of days I felt the need to share them with you.

First up, we have a new promotional video for Polar Skate Co. has just been released. The skating is brilliant, the editing is great, the music choices are fantastic.

And second we have Visual Travelling’s video summarising a month long trek through India. A lot of impressive skating, but it’s the location choices that really make this video stand out from the pack. Check it.

AONO SS12

AONO, or Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned, are making some pretty big waves in the alternative fashion scene at the moment. And they’re starting off this year in a very good way. They’ve just revamped their webstore and released their Spring/Summer 2012 collection with it. It’s all looking pretty damn nice.

I only found out about them about 3 months ago or so, but considering they’ve only been going for around 6 months they are achieving some pretty impressive things. In the time that I’ve been observing them they’ve been going from strength to strength, visiting trade shows with brands like Abandon Ship Apparel (ASA) and HBAD and then recently signing under ASA’s wholesale distribution company, East Trading. Not bad for 6 months work.

And to kick off this year they’ve released two new t-shirts, with two more to be released at a later date, and they’re looking pretty damn good. They seem to be pushing in a more artistic direction, moving away from the very stylised two t-shirts they have released previously. What I really like is the hand-drawn look that they seem to be going for with all these new releases. If this is a sign of things to come, I see only good things in the future for them.

The four new designs are below, with the two current ones at the top and the upcoming ones below. AONO can be found at their facebook page and all their products can be found on their webstore

Fashion Victim x Dimple Kid

Fashion Victim clothing have finalised their new project, a collaboration with artist Dimple Kid.

This collaboration includes two A3 posters. The first of these, by Fashion Victim is of a native american chief. The image is in black and white but the poster is colourfully decorated with watery ink splatters like you might see on a watercolour. The headdress of the man in the image also features three buttons bearing the logo of the fashion brand.

The second piece, by Dimple Kid, is a modern re-imagining of the classic laughing Buddha image. It features a laughing Buddha, but dressed in a zip-up jacket and a flat-peak cap… the sort of casual clothing you might see people wearing nowadays.

I’m a massive fan of the project, and hope to see these two working together in the future, maybe on some clothing items.

Both posters are shown below, and can be purchased from Fashion Victim’s webstore, http://fashionvictim.bigcartel.com/

It took me a while to decide on what sort of content I wanted to publish on here, so I decided to do a mixture of a number of different interests I have. So this blog will contain anything from music to fashion to video games to breaking news. So, welcome, and make sure to subscribe to catch everything. Thanks!
